FAQ

Questions about becoming an IBO

What is an Independent Business Owner (IBO)?

An IBO is the certified individual who operates an OFI-CIA location, earns through a defined commission model and builds equity in their own outcome rather than functioning simply as an employee.

How do I become an IBO?

There are four steps: apply, complete the IBO Certification Curriculum, take on a location under the Restaurant Operations Manual, then operate under the IBO commission model with ongoing field coaching.

What does certification involve?

A modular curriculum covering operations, leadership and financial management. Certification levels carry increasing operating responsibility, supported by continuous professional development.

How are IBOs paid?

IBOs operate under a defined commission model. The specific terms are shared with applicants by our recruitment team during the application process.

What support do I get after certification?

Certification is the start, not the finish. IBOs receive scheduled site visits, performance reviews, hands-on coaching and direct escalation support through our Field Operations & Coaching arm.

Which locations can I apply for?

Use the Location Preference field on the application to tell us where you would like to operate. Our flagship is Aspen Grove at Kumasi City Mall; new locations are listed on our Restaurants page as they are announced.

What happens to my application?

Applications are routed directly to the OFI-CIA recruitment team, who will contact you using the details you provide.
